I Don't Need Education                               
                                         

         Education is when you have knowledge or the learning you get from school. Everyone needs education benefits another way of getting through life.Johanes feels that school is a waste and he don’t need to go. At the end he finds out that it is very important. Johanes views of school changes.

         Johanes hates school very much. He despises any school. He refuses to go school because it’s a waste of his time. “When my mother began dropping hints that I would be going to school, I vowed never to go because school is a waste of my time.” In this quote his mom is telling him that he’s going to school even though he claims it’s a waste of time. “What, I gasped, leaping from the chair where I was sitting as if it was made of hot lead.” “I am not going to school.” He finds out when his grandma had picked him up he had found out he was going to school and he went crazy.

          At the end, he finds out that his mother wants him to go to school because she wanted him to have a future in his life. “Why do you want me to go to school Mama?” “I asked, hoping that she might somehow; clear up of the confusion that was building in my mind.” “I want you to have a future child,” “My mother said.” He also finds out that at the end, his mother and father didn’t go to school and she asked him to promise her that he will stay in school forever. “Promise me therefore, that no matter what you’ll go back to school,   and I in return that I’ll do anything in my power to keep you there.” “With tears streaming down my cheeks and falling upon my mother’s bosom, I promised her that I would go to school, forever.”

          “Education can open doors where none seem to exist.” Many of you are what this means. This mean that education can open doors to the world, such as with education you can be anything you can be like a lawyer, judge, teacher and scientist, but without education you’ll just be another average person who didn’t think about school and felt that it was a waste of time just like Johanes felt in the beginning of the story. So don’t be like him, so go out and get a get your education and prepare yourself for a better future for yourself.
